Join alt-folk singer-songwriter Bec Sykes and her band in celebrating her debut album Pepperpot Magic and its fresh vinyl release.
Very special guests, beloved Naarm indie-rock outfit Mood Spill, and Beechworth-grown, masterful singer-songwriter Liv Cartledge, will also take to the stage. Bec's all-star band includes Matt Dixon on pedal steel, Holly Thomas on drums, Bradley Ellis on electric guitar, Ronan Nicholson on bass and Rhiannon Atkinson-Howatt (Merpire) on backing vocals.
Produced by Robert Muiños (Didirri, Julia Jacklin) at the Rat Shack, Pepperpot Magic has been hailed by Atwood Magazine as "a dreamy, achingly tender alt-folk triumph". Gentle yet self-assured, the album seamlessly blends the intimate with the universal, traversing themes of anxiety, recovery, family trauma, a religious upbringing and an unhealthy relationship. On stage, Bec's deeply personal storytelling is balanced out by her dry yet charming stage presence.
Bec has supported the likes of Sarah Blasko, Telenova, Didirri, Teenage Dads, Josh Pyke and Mia Wray, received mentorship from iconic Naarm label Pieater (Big Scary, Maple Glider), showcased at BigSound 2024, and her music has garnered over 1.5 million streams on Spotify.
