Melbourne Indie Punks ‘Turn South‘ are excited to celebrate the release of their record Fern Town. Please join them and friends on the 3rd of August at the Grace Darling Hotel. “Fern Town” is a 22 minute collection of seven passionate and frenetic songs which exemplify the bands capacities musically and conceptually. Fern Town is characterised by fiercely shimmering guitar tones, forceful drums and articulate vocal harmonies. Detailing a sense of discomfort and uncertainty, lead vocalist Jye Batham details a very familiar sense of unease the record over identifying societal and internal contradictions in Fern Town. Blue Velvet draw heavily from a broad spectrum of music to create an incredibly unique, catchy and beguiling sound. The band’s sound features soaring synth lines and bemoaning the tedium and melancholy of existence. Blue Velvet join Turn South in Melbourne ahead of the release of their forthcoming EP and subsequent tour. The band’s chaotic live show is not to be missed. Face Face are invigorating. Following the release of their 2017 self-titled album the band has established themselves as one of the most prolific live bands in Melbourne. Emblazoned in their iconic black and white horizontal stripes this three piece create lyrically driven indie rock which oozes 90’s charisma and nostalgia over a dynamic wall of fuzz drenched guitars. After exploding onto the scene earlier this year, with their washy and pouring single ‘Get Smart’, The Belair Lip Bombs have established a potent reputation in the slacker rock community Australia over. Maisie’s commanding and magnetic vocals croon over the surfy and driven guitar tones in a manner which leaves listeners desperate for their greatly anticipated debut EP. We intend for this event to be a safe space. Please be respectful of each other and the venue. Please alert any staff at the Grace Darling Hotel or any members of Turn South directly if you observe any antisocial behaviour and we will do everything we can to remedy the situation.
