The Grace Darling Hotel acknowledge the Wurundjeri peoples of the Kulin nation, on whose land we reside. We pay respect to past and present elders and acknowledge that Aboriginal sovereignty was never ceded.
Built in 1854, Melbourne’s second oldest pub and the first stone building in Collingwood, the Grace Darling has been a indispensable community institution for over a century and a half.
While proud of our history, the Grace is a thoroughly modern pub, hosting contemporary music and art almost every night of the week. Our restaurant serves a sophisticated interpretation of classic pub food with rotating seasonal specials and the concise selection of wine, beer and spirits, like the menu, highlights local, sustainable merchants of fine produce.
The Grace is committed to reflecting the values of a true public house, providing a safe space for all and for social growth. We believe in a policy of ‘guns at the door’ when it comes to politics in pubs, but we view the values of human dignity, respect and environmental sustainability as beyond the realm of politics, as simple universal truths.
We strive for the promotion of creativity, experimentation and progression in live music and the arts. Providing a safe and accessible space for culture to develop and flourish.
The venue now consists of a restaurant, public bar, and two band rooms available for private functions. The public bar and sidewalk beer garden continues to house a diversity of mingling locals, artists and professionals, offering comfort and privacy for both intimate encounters and group gatherings, while the band room has transformed into a mainstay on the local live music circuit producing a roster of emerging acts.
